The Wolves
Left quad. Right quad. Lunge. “We are the wolves!... We are the wolves!!... WE ARE THE WOLVES!!”
A close knit group of teenage indoor soccer players. They’re each other's best friends and each other's worst enemies. Battling adolescence, with all its challenges. Discovering strength within themselves despite forced expectations. Mixing hard work, havoc, and heart into the dynamics of their pre-game rituals on Saturday mornings. These young women must face loss and heartbreak and find a way back together as a team.
The Wolves, "a firecracker of a play, spilling over with humor, insight and pathos” (The Hollywood Reporter) is a Pulitzer Prize finalist and co winner of the inaugural Relentless Award for Playwriting. “The scary, exhilarating brightness of raw adolescence emanates from every scene of this uncannily assured first play by Sarah DeLappe.”(The New York Times)
For director Chelsea Jones, The Wolves “showcases teenage girls with the respect they deserve but seldom receive. These characters are warriors, not passive love interests in a man's story.”
