SURLY Library Assistant
As a student organisation of Monash University, MSA provides services and support to the over 37,000 students on the Clayton campus.
The Student Union Recreational Library (SURLY) is the only recreational library on campus, committed to providing relevant resources and useful services for students.
Founded in 1970 as a music-listening library, it now holds a range of multimedia:
- books,
- e-books,
- comics,
- music,
- DVDs,
- games and more.
The library also provides:
- document services (printing, laminating, binding),
- equipment loans, and
- provides front-of-house services for the MSA including:
- ticket sales,
- information and membership services, and
- administration tasks.
The benefit of an on-campus role is the ability to easily fit shifts around your university schedule. MSA is a flexible workplace, with the understanding of university schedules. We are a supportive and ethical employer.
The successful candidate will need to have high-level organisation, administration skills and attention to detail. They will also need excellent customer service and communication skills, handling face-to-face, phone, email and online enquiries.
Staff members also work closely with a large team of volunteers.
Successful candidates may be rostered for up to 1-3 shifts a week during teaching periods. This is a casual position-
