Monash Student Association (MSA) is a student organisation run by students for students on the Clayton campus of Monash University.

Apply for on campus casual work for students in our Wholefoods kitchen and café to work predominantly during Monash University’s academic periods in 2023.

The Role

As a student organisation of Monash University, MSA provides services and support to the over 38,000 students on the Clayton campus.

An important component of MSA services is Wholefoods, our vegetarian and vegan restaurant and Cafe. Paid staff and volunteers work side-by-side within the restaurant and café.

Wholefoods is a fundamental part of MSA and Clayton campus culture. It is a meeting point for many students and a safe space for everyone. It has a collective that supports the running of Wholefoods, works in a consensus decision making manner and provides opportunities for students to have a say in Wholefoods.

MSA would like to provide employment opportunities for Clayton campus students. MSA is a flexible workplace, with the ability to work around university schedules.

Preferred candidates would have either barista and/or kitchen preparation skills.

Key requirements for this role include:

• Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
• Exhibit an awareness of vegan/vegetarian and cruelty free products
• An awareness and understanding of Wholefoods
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of OHS and Food Safety requirements
• Have completed or be willing to complete a Food Safety Handling Certificate

Please note that Wholefoods is not open during semester breaks and as such the staff do not work during these times. This role will only work during academic periods.

The role is casual.
