Japanese Style Grilled Chicken Meatballs

Main Ingredients
300g Minced chicken
½ Diced Onion
1 Egg white
Salt and pepper to taste
1 Tablespoon Corn starch
1 Teaspoon Soy Sauce

Sauce Ingredients
1 tablespoon Sake
3 tablespoons Mirin
1 teaspoon Sugar
1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce

Additional Ingredients
1 teaspoon Corn starch (to thicken the sauce)



Step 1
Put all main ingredients into a bowl and knead until it becomes sticky

Step 2
Wet your hands with water and shape into meatballs

Step 3
Using a frying pan and a low heat, fry the meatballs for 2 minutes on each side

Step 4
Cover and cook on low heat for 6 minutes

Step 5
While the meatballs are cooking, mix the sauce ingredients together in a bowl

Step 6
After the 6 minutes is over, pour the sauce mixture onto the meatballs

Step 7
Simmer on medium heat for 3-4 minutes

Step 8
Mix 1 teaspoon of corn starch with a little bit of water, and pour over the meatballs

Step 9
Cook for another 2 minutes on low-medium heat


Best served with a bowl of rice!
