Cooking Classes

MSA Leadership & Volunteering proudly presents

M SA InstaCook: Cooking Classes

This is a new initiative, and we are so excited to launch it and help students learn to cook from scratch. Participants will help cook a different three-course meal each class.

We have been fortunate enough to have an amazing volunteer named Jia Lin as our host, who will be helping you cook up a storm.

We will be hosting 3 cooking classes per semester:

The menu will be listed in week 1 of each semester.

Our cooking class will run from 5:00pm.

We ask that participants meet within the Wholefoods Restaurant, in front of the kitchen doors.

The Wholefoods Restaurant is on level 1 of Campus Centre, 21 Chancellors Walk.

Please only attend the class if you are a registered participant. We will be taking attendance.

The cooking class will finish with all participants eating the meal they had prepared together.

Participants will be asked to help clean up after the cooking class so that the Wholefoods Kitchen can be ready for service the next day.

FAQs

Why are you charging for this activity?

Sadly, many students register for free activities and do not attend.

The charge will not only help us fund ingredients but will also reduce the likelihood of no-shows.

Why are there limited spaces available?

We can only have 10 participants. The class is hosted by one of our amazing volunteers and one co-host volunteer. We want to ensure the class goes well by not overcrowding the kitchen and ensuring everyone can be mentored and supervised by our volunteer.

I have a ticket (woo!) what now?

We will send you some online training to complete before we can allow you into the Wholefoods kitchen. Details will be emailed to you shortly after registration.

Are tickets transferable or refundable?

No. We do not allow transfers or refunds. Please ensure you are 100% available before registering.

I missed out on getting a place. Can I be notified of any other cooking classes that might run in the future?

Anyone registered to be on the waiting list will be notified first of our future cooking classes.

The Monash Student Association and the Leadership & Volunteering Department proudly bring this service to you.

The venue reserves the right to refuse entry and to remove persons who display anti-social behaviour.
