Support for People with Disabilities and Their Carers
Social and peer support: MSA D&C Collective
We’re a collective of students from many different backgrounds that are chronically or mentally ill, disabled, have caring responsibilities, and more. You don’t have to identify as disabled or consider yourself an “official” carer to join.

Getting assistance at Monash
- Disability Support Service (DSS). Register with DSS to get accommodations for your coursework, or contact your person to discuss how your needs have changed. The DSS services are available for students with a disability, ongoing medical or mental health condition, or who are a carer in any capacity. The services provided include alternative exam conditions or flexible deadlines for your assignments.
- Academic-related support: MSA Student Advocacy and Support. Go here if you’re having trouble with a special consideration application, you’ve had one rejected for a reason you don’t agree with, or anything else similar. Also feel free to reach out to them and ask what sort of documentation or phrasing in medical certificates is necessary or any other questions.
